The UV5R Gen 3 shares some features with the UV5R with some great upgrades. This model has 8 watts from the up from the standard 5 Watt. They will come factory unlocked for use in commercial bands like fire department frequencies.

We’ll use your shipping zip code to program local ham radio towers and program FRS/ GMRS frequencies (you can listen on GMRS/FRS frequencies legally but cannot transmit without a license). The program option is $29 added to the price of the radio and a single programming purchase will cover as many radios as you purchase (we recommend 2+).
