In the Hermetic side of alchemy, the Philosopher’s Stone, is supposed to be the most tangible and dense crystalization or condensation of a subtle substance, and it has become a metaphor for the inner potential of the spirit and reason to evolve from a lower state of imperfection and vice, to a higher state of enlightenment and perfection.
There are 3 basic shapes within this esoteric symbol; the Circle (infinite, spirit), the Square (finite, material, physical, the body) & the Triangle (trinity, unity aspects, bridge).
